Cartagena A Cruiser’s Guide

  • Morning coffee (no charge) until we until we run out (usually 10.00am). Beer $1.25US, Local lunch $3.25. Breakfast (american style)$3.25, Sizzling Steak(Filet) $8.00. The marina provides provides facilities to boats anchored out and docked. The daily dinghy dock charge is $3.00US (for boats with 6 crew or less) which entitles you to the following.

  • NOTE THAT WE ARE STILL (feb 2010) UNDERTAKING A MAJOR RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT WHICH MEANS THAT BAR/RESTAURANT SERVICES ARE NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. WORK IS PROCEEDING SLOWLY DUE TO LOCAL POLITICAL INTERVENTION.


Facilities:

  • Secure dinghy dock (24 hr security)-showers - Garbage - laundry - Water - Book exchange - Cable TV - Pool table - Recreational room where cruisers can relax - Bayside restaurant -an informal place where people can stay playing dominoes, checking on the local gossip etc.

 



 

 

  • You won't feel obliged  to move on, except for the occasional private banquet.

  • Pot luck fun and festivities laid on especially for our cruising friends.



Short Term
(2 weeks or less). 

  • Monohull Sailboats.

  • $1000pesos (approx 50 cents US) per foot LOA per day.

  •  Water and Electricity(basic use) $6000 (Approx $3.00) per day. Water use alone: 3000pesos

  • Multihull Sailboats.

  • $1500pesos cents (approx 75 cents US) per foot LOA per day.

  • Water and Electricity(basic use) $8000 pesos (approx $4 US) per day. Water use alone $4000pesos

  • Motor cruisers.

  • 1200pesos (approx 60 cents US) per foot LOA per day.

  • Water and Electricity (basic use) $8000pesos(approx $4 US) per day . Water use alone $4000 pesos

  • Basic electrical use (above) does not include the use of electrical hogs such as AC and waterheaters. With such use electricity will be metered at  450 pesos per KW/HR (approx 25 cents US)

Long Term. Applicable to those paying at least 1 month in advance.


Monohull Sailboats:  $700pesos (approx 35 cents US) per foot (LOA)per day

Multihull Sail and Motor: $1200pesos (approx 60 centsUS) per foot (LOA)per day.

Motor Cruisers: $1000pesos (approx 50 centsUS) per foot(LOA) per day

Water use is included in the Long Term rate.
Electricity is charged at a minimum 3000 pesos per day for a monohull sailboat and 4000 pesos per day for multihulls and  motoryachts. We intend to meter all usage in the future. Currently all vessels with AC and other electrical 'hogs' are metered at 450 pesos (approx 25 cents US) per kw/hr
